There are just some people in the world that attach to your heart. For me, there is one in particular and it has been kind of a sideways journey. When Jo lived nearby, I respected her, ran in the same circles as she did and greatly enjoyed her company. But…I was a very different person then. She probably was as well. As with many military families, she moved away but is one of those people who was never really far from my heart. She is also one of those amazing people that writes the yearly ‘Christmas’ (sometimes it comes in February) letters so that you can stay up to date with her family. I, on the other hand, am not good at that…at all. But every year we would read that letter as a family. She always included a picture of her evolving family. She is now mom to six wonderful children. If you were to come into my kitchen you would find her family’s photo on my fridge next to the pics I keep of my kids.
She lives in Kansas now, homeschools her kids and still lives a crazy, busy life. I love Facebook because it is how I get to keep up with her. I cried with her when her little girl left for a long-term overseas mission trip. I cried with her when her little girl broke her back and had to return before the end of her stay there and I rejoiced with her when she had her baby girl back in her arms. She is generally the first person I turn to when my heart is breaking because I know that she takes my request and heart straight to the throne of the King.
Even though she will argue with me, she is the closest example I have to a real Proverbs 31 woman.
Thank you Jo Midyett for your love and friendship.
